Strappo
The strappo is a restoration technique that involves tearing a fresco from the wall on which it was painted, transferring it to a new surface, thus preserving the original work. This technique, also known in Catalonia for the removal of frescoes in Romanesque churches in the Pyrenees, fascinates him for its procedure and results, especially for accidents like irregularities or wear. Creating and fragmenting frescoes in his workshop gives him a sense of freedom and connection with the materials. By tearing them off, he transforms them into autonomous pieces with an archaeological appearance, symbolizing our digital era under the "ashes" of technological progress.
